Warts and All

Every evening, we have a pleasant family ritual that we follow. After dinner, we watch a little History or Science Channel or Animal Planet. Then DD and I cuddle and talk or read in my big comfy chair, while DS and DH delete enough shows on the DVR to record the shows that they won't have enough time to watch tomorrow. (Isn't Dish techonology wonderful?) After that, DD gets on her pajamas and plays with her stuffed animals or little plastic characters while I soak my feet in a basin of hot water with jojoba and peppermint oil in it. Then she brushes her teeth and washes up before bedtime while I put a banana skin on my foot.

Actually, I put it on my toe and it's not a whole banana skin, just a small piece that I wrap around the end of my toe and secure with two bandaids. Although my family still falls about laughing when they see me doing this, I will continue to do it no matter how much mock they make of me.

And I am not alone! No, according to what I read, there are probably at least a million people doing this very thing somewhere in the world every night. (Mind boggling, isn't it?) And, according to quite a few of them, and definitely in my case, it's working. Why do I put a banana skin on my toe? BGL (big Groucho leer), because a coconut shell would fall off.

But, seriously, or as seriously as I can speak about putting fruit debris on my digit... Banana skins are supposed to cure warts. Some folks say it's the potassium in them. Some say it's something else. I don't have a clue why it works. All I know is that I had a large plantar wart on my toe a week ago and it's almost gone.

I noticed it about a month ago. It was sore and red and then rather quickly turned into a typical wart. It seemed to grow at an alarming rate and got more and more painful, until I decided that I'd have to go have it removed. But before I called the doctor, I did some research on the Net and found this site, the Folk Medicine Archive. It was there that I read about the banana skin cure for warts and saved myself a lot of aggravation.

I'm going back there right after I post this to let them know that the cure worked for me. I'm so impressed with it that I'm wondering if it'd work on my Rosacea. Some people think Rosacea is caused by a virus and so are warts, so who knows? However, the logistics of spending the night with banana skins taped to my face is daunting, not to mention that I'd have to go to a motel for a week, because my family would laugh themselves sick. Maybe I could devise a way of holding them in place with a ski mask or wear my scarf in the house. I guess I need to work on this.

Then there are the other cures I've read about recently. Apple cider vinegar for high blood pressure - mine is creeping up there. Blackstrap molasses for younger looking skin. Turmeric for arthritis pain and inflammation and cayenne pepper for sore throats. Yanno, I think I'm going to put all of this together in a glass, add some sparkling water and take it nightly. Of course, it'll probably taste horrible, so I think I'd better add a shot of whiskey. And maybe I'd better chase it with a big piece of chocolate, because I know for a fact that chocolate can cure anything. I'll let you know how it works.

I had a wart on my toe, went and got it burnt, never came back. and now I have a planter wart at the ball point of my foot, and its been der for 4 years. Looked like a corn, i change so may shoes. never disoeared. i changed socks, and it spread. now I am Panicking. Happy it isnt a corn tho or else it would of been on both feet but it was on 1 and i messsed up dat foot years ago, so i thought i migth of needed surgery to correct soemthig but my foot is perfectly fine. Thank god! Anyways, i have to go get get examined by a foot specialist.

Warts r no big deal, planter warts are, becuz u have to consistanty treat the, burn them 4-5 times atleast. I am a dancer, i am doing a lot of big things now and I need my feet now more then ever. So imagine your living and dreams going down the drain bcuz of sum stupid planted warts and doctors who dont tell u wut it is and who do agree with ever u say and its nto what u thought it was.

I did sooooo much research about feet, and kwow alot about skin already just looked up more about warts. Here are sum tips. have your own hand towel at home. Change the 1 in the bathroom everyday, maybe if a guest comes over. Wear slippers at pools and the shower rooms, change rooms, make sure your children do to, because thats how I caught mine, and they r very hard to get rid of. Maybe u shoudl scared your choldren by tellin dem if they dont, then tehy will have wut u had on ur toe lol

Get 100% white cotton socks, and maybe sweat or heat resistant. Take 3 to 6 weeks for somethng to appear after u catch it so by doin this it will not spread. Change your sheets once or twice a week, thats a given lol Wear slippers dat r suited to ur foot and do not cause ur feet to sweat. Do not share slipper also do not share and try not to re-use ur foot towel after a shower. Also, I suggest you get rid of any old shoe. Keep the really good ones or anythin u havent worn for the past 3 months. Anythin u have worn in the past month, give it good cleanin all round if u dont want throw it out, change the sole in the shoes, buy sum new ones. And you should be just fine. this is not just from research, this is from my experience.

I still have a little foot problem, that i have to go see a good doctor for, i dont beleivin the internet too much, but it gives me guidelines to know what doctors r sayin, wrong or right... For ur feet, see a foot specialist, for ur skin, see a dermatalogist. Reaserch what they give you and ask what you have. Specs ect. Ill be checkin back here to see if my comment helped lol later

Maybe you could make some sort of mask to wear a couple hours a day with the banana pulp in it? Just a thought. I just wanted to let you know that my warts (of four years) are now gone thanks to this remedy! Peace.

Fun read! I'm allergic to bananas, but I do use vaseline and put socks on my feet. Jojoba helped when my face got burned when I was a teenager. Becauase of allergies I cannot tolerate smoking either, but found a really cool thing that helps. Put a bowl of white vinegar in the room the smoke is in. No, I don't allow it in my home, but when the neighbors smoke it comes my way. Please feel free to visit http://www.aturningpoint4me.blogspot.com …The invasion of the body snatcher…menopause.
